UWMCC is proud to be one of a handful of sports clubs at the university who have Performance status. Currently, we are on the Silver Performance Programme, and looking forward, we hope to elevate our Performance grade in the coming years.

Performance Sport is awarded to clubs who are not only successful at a competitive level, but show commitment and drive to adopt a performance culture. Within UWMCC, there are 16 individuals chosen to form the Men’s Cricket Performance Squad.

This squad receives comprehensive support from Warwick Sport, through a number of channels:

  • Physiotherapy support, both for injury prevention as well as rehabilitation following injury
  • A nutritionist who provides support to ensure that athletes are maximising their potential away from technical training and gym work
  • A sports psychologist, who works alongside players to optimise success during training sessions and on match days, and to implement strategies that allow players to reach their full potential
  • A personal strength and conditioning coach who creates customised programmes for players that are followed throughout the academic year at biweekly fitness sessions. Progress is monitored on a termly basis and athletes are also provided with personalised programmes over the Christmas and Easter breaks, in order to stay in top condition away from university.

2019 Varsity Winning Team!

On a club-wide level, away from the Performance Squad, clubmen benefit from financial support that enables the provision of high-level coaching.
