As part of UWMCC’s International Tour to Sri Lanka in March 2019, we will be visiting the incredible Foundation of Goodness project in order to run a coaching session for underprivileged school children and see the incredible work carried out by the charity. The project was set up in 1999 and following the devastating 2004 tsunami which disrupted many people’s lives, the charity has worked extensively to carry out redevelopment programmes, including village infrastructure development, water and sanitation projects, and sports development. With prominent trustees including Muttiah Muralitharan, Kumar Sangakkara and Russel Arnold, this is a fantastic charity that we cannot wait to get involved with.
As well as the coaching session we’re aiming to run, we are also looking to raise money over the next few months to donate to the project, including via a charity quiz we are looking to hold during Term 2. If you would like to make a donation please contact Charities Sec Jonathan Brook (J.Brook.3@warwick.ac.uk), Tour Secretary Saurav Parmar (S.Parmar.1@warwick.ac.uk) or President Joe Randall (J.Randall.1@warwick.ac.uk).
