Cricket at Warwick is currently in a good place with teams progressing up the BUCS leagues over the past few seasons. The standard ranges from a good level of Premier/Div 1 Cricket in the 1st XI all the way down to a strong standard of village cricket in the 4th XI. This summer we will have four BUCS teams competing in competitive cricket throughout the summer term across the midlands. The teams will be playing in:

1st XI – Midlands 2A/B

2nd XI – Midlands 3A/B

3rd XI – Midlands 3B

4th XI – Midlands 4A

All BUCS squads are lead by professional coaching company Complete Cricket from the end of term 1 onwards with many of the coaches being ex-professional players themselves.

For those that don’t make squads, there is an ever growing and very inclusive friendlies squad that accommodates cricketers of all abilities; whether you are looking to push into squads or are simply learning how to play.

New to the 2018/19 season will be UWMCC’s introduction into the performance sport programme where the club will receive additional funding alongside in-depth technical and strength & conditioning based coaching from Warwick Sport for the Performance Squad.

The performance squad will have a pre-season camp toward the end of the Easter break to prepare for the upcoming BUCS season.

In addition to this, we are aiming to enter an indoor cricket team for the BUCS indoor competition. In 2015/16, this side became National Champions, defeating the University of Portsmouth in the final.

During the year we will also renew our fierce rivalry with Coventry at our annual varsity fixture where this year we won both indoors and outside.

Celebrating our most recent varsity weekend victory!
