Gents,

With the cricket season having passed most of us by, it is time to turn to the Green Day classic, ‘Wake Me Up when September Ends’ to represent how most circle hungry Clubmen feel right now. Before I start playing that, I am waiting to see Glamorgan power through Finals Days on Saturday and win the tournament with lots of strong welsh players in the team.

I hope you have all had a great summer of cricket and have managed to pass some of our success as a club last year onto yours. This is a note about up and coming events, circle tickets and Old Boys news.

I hope all UWMCC Old Boys reading this have had a great summer working, playing cricket or have just had a few good weeks off. I hope that UWMCC is something you still want to be a part of even though you have now left Warwick. This year we would like to build on the successful Old Boys Match at the end of the summer term and organise a few more events.

1. Circling Tickets:
Circling tickets are on sale at 12pm (MIDDAY) on WEDESDAY the 13th of SEPTEMBER, so put this in your diaries and make sure you get the tickets you want or ask someone else to.

2. President’s end of season review:
Follow this link for Bex’s end of season, end of year review of the club which is well worth a read.

3. Old Boys Circle:
We thought it may be an idea to try and suggest a circle for you all to come too so then you can all co-ordinate seeing each other. You are of course welcome whenever, but we thought Wednesday Week 5 of Term 1 maybe a good date for an Old Boys based circle. That will be Wednesday November 1st. Tickets can be bought directly by you from the SU website (ON SALE 13TH SEPTEMBER AT MIDDAY) or through one of the current members. If you would like one of us to do it please get in contact with me or Joe as soon as possible.

4. Cricket Ball 2017, Victoria House. Saturday the 25th of November.
Please save the date as Joe, this year’s social sec, has already booked Victoria House for the night and is currently working on getting us a great guest. We hope to see as many of you as possible there on the night as we expect it to be another loose event which we can all enjoy. A link to ticket sales will be sent out nearer the time.

5. Term 2: Old Boys Ryder Cup/Skool Days – 20 of January (End of Week 2)
As a term 2 event we have thought of organising an Old Boys weekend including an Old Boys vs current members ‘Ryder Cup’ in the day on the 20th of January (Saturday) followed by an Old Boys circle before Skool Days in the evening (This is the date of Week 2 Saturday, we are not sure yet if Skool Dayz is this week but will update when we know). This is something new for the year and if you would be interested in attending please reply to this email, or drop me a message to let me know so that we can start to organise it.

6. Term 3: Old Boys Weekend – June 15th – June 17th, 2018 (End of Week 8)
Following on from the great game this year we would like to make the Old Boys event this year bigger and better. This year the current members only got close thanks to some powerful hitting from Gooders at the end of the innings so we are thinking of maybe having a day of cricket, sort of like club day, with a few teams and a mini-tournament. This is the provisional date for it and more details of timings and the format will be sent around nearer the time. But please try and keep the date free.
